Connect Loui to AI

Loui connects directly to AI assistants – through an MCP connector. This lets an AI like Claude read, search and – if you want – create or edit your projects and documents in Loui, without copy-and-paste, right inside the chat.

The connector is a standard MCP server with OAuth sign-in. Any AI client that supports remote MCP uses the same endpoint:

Requirements

• A Loui account with an active Pro subscription – the connector is part of Loui Pro.
• An AI client that supports remote MCP servers (e.g. Claude).
• The connection uses OAuth: when connecting, you sign in once with your Loui account and authorize access.

Connect with Claude

The Loui connector is available in Claude – you don't need to add it manually by URL.

1. In Claude, open Settings → Connectors.
2. Select Loui from the connector list and connect.
3. Follow the OAuth login: sign in with your Loui account and authorize access.
4. Done – the Loui tools are now available in the chat.

Tip: try asking Claude something like "Which projects do I have in Loui?" or "Summarize my document Trip planning." Write actions (creating or changing something) always ask for confirmation in Claude before they run.

Connect with ChatGPT

ChatGPT can add the same endpoint as a custom MCP server – both reading and writing work. You need a ChatGPT plan that allows custom MCP servers.

1. In ChatGPT, open Plugins → Add → Add custom MCP server.
2. Enter https://louiapp.com/mcp as the URL and choose OAuth as the authentication method.
3. Follow the OAuth login: sign in with your Loui account and authorize access.
4. Done – the Loui tools are available in the chat.

Other AI clients

Because the connector is standard MCP over HTTPS with OAuth, the same endpoint works in principle in any client that supports remote MCP servers – such as Cursor, VS Code, Windsurf or Zed. The flow is always the same: enter the endpoint URL https://louiapp.com/mcp and sign in with your Loui account via OAuth.

There's deliberately no separate step-by-step guide per client here – these interfaces change often. Claude and ChatGPT are documented in detail; for everything else, the generic instructions above apply.

Data & security

• Access is limited to your own account – only your projects and documents, nothing beyond that.
• The connection is authorized via OAuth; you can revoke access at any time in your AI client.
• Content is transmitted and stored encrypted.
• Write tools ask for confirmation in Claude before every change.
